Championing Notts Sports Volunteering programme.

Championing Notts is a brand new sports volunteers scheme recently launched in the city and county. Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council are working together to recruit volunteers to help deliver some of the fantastic sports events that take place in Nottingham.

Nottingham has a history of hosting world class national and international events such as:

  • ICC World Twenty20
  • Robin Hood Festival of Running
  • FA Women’s Cup Final
  • European Canoe Slalom Championships

Being the host of these fantastic events means enthusiastic volunteers are always needed to help make sure they run smoothly, and that’s where you may be able to help.

The City Council and County Council are currently recruiting for the Championing Notts Sports Volunteering programme.

The sports volunteering scheme is supported by East Midlands Development Agency.

Volunteering at sports events can be very rewarding and offers a great opportunity to:

  • develop new skills
  • improve personal development
  • make new friends
  • have lots of fun

With London 2012 just around the corner, volunteering can also provide individuals with some vital sports event experience to stand out from the crowd – over 70,000 volunteers are required for the 2012 Games and already double that many people have registered interest in volunteering.

How to apply
