Healthy eating for sport

One of this year's big messages for Youth Games participants is to eat well.

Ashfield’s Healthy Lifestyles mascot Brocky the Broccoli will be handing out free fruit and water bottles at both Youth Games events to help keep participants energised throughout the day.

Brocky and Rascal the Rabbit popped into the Airport's supermarket to pick up some healthy food to keep them going at the races at the launch of the Games.

It is really important that when you take part in sport you:

  • Eat a well balanced diet
  • Include 5 portions of fruit and vegetables per day
  • Drink enough fluids to prevent you from becoming dehydrated.
