
Nottinghamshire Sports Disability Unit
The Sports Disability Unit, a department within the Nottinghamshire County Council’s Sports Service, aims to develop, enable and provide opportunities for all disabled people in Nottinghamshire.

The team at the Unit works to:
- Provide a grass roots development programme to raise Awareness and increase Participation through Opportunity and Coaching (APOC)
- Provide competitive opportunity at all levels
- Provide an annual School of Sport - a week of sport activities, workshops and social activities
- Develop opportunities and pathways in priority sports of swimming, athletics, cricket, boccia, football, and gymnastics
- Educate and raise awareness of inclusion with providers to create local opportunities
- Support individuals, schools, colleges, day centres, coaches, clubs, and community groups
- Support talented individuals to achieve their desired and potential level within sport
- Provide an information service.
