Nottingham City Council
The vision for the service is to use sport and physical activity to “Inspire More People to be More Active, More Often”. Ensuring residents are provided with access and opportunities to participate in quality sport and physical activity provision to help realise their potential, live full and active lives and contribute to a vibrant and prosperous City.

Our aims are to:
- increase participation in sport and physical activity
- ensure that socially excluded, isolated or economically disadvantaged City residents are supported to engage in sport and physical activity provision
- provide opportunities for all individuals to reach their potential
- support and extend the number of sports clubs
- improve community safety and reduce anti-social behaviour using sport as diversionary activity
- increase levels of participation in under represented groups e.g. women and girls, black and ethnic minorities, older people, disabled people
- develop a comprehensive network of qualified sports coaches through partnership working
- create and support clear sporting pathways
- promote healthy living through sport and physical activity
- support sporting events at International, National, Regional and Local levels
