Newark and Sherwood District Council

The Sports Development Unit directly provides activities as well as supporting and helping clubs and local groups to deliver sport and physical activity opportunities.

The Unit aims to get more people participating in sport to reach the highest level possible, but also become more active generally and leading a healthy lifestyle.

The Unit delivers –

Coaching courses for people to get a qualification to coach
Coaching sessions for people to participate after school, evenings and school holidays
Advice and support to clubs and local groups to plan and organise more activity, gain funding, facility developments and organise events
Sports equipment loan scheme (more information can be found in the funding section)
Schools competitions, events and festivals
A Grant Aid scheme
