Sports Development Unit was established in October 1997
The multi-faceted role has become an increasingly important part of providing equal opportunities for sport and recreation within the local community.
The sports development officer works in partnerships with a number of sports, identified through consultation with the county governing bodies, to develop clubs and volunteers, ensuring the sustainability of new junior sections and encouraging more volunteers into sport.
