child protection policy
We believe that children and young people deserve the opportunity to achieve their full potential. Policies therefore exist within Nottinghamshire County Sports Partnership to ensure that you, along with agencies and professionals, can help young people who are suffering or at risk of suffering significant harm. This can range from being concerned about observed behaviour or indicators of possible abuse, to information that has come to you which cannot be ignored. Or this could highlight practices which need to be improved or changed.
Your club may already have a comprehensive safeguarding policy but you may wish to use this and future developments in this area to support your own policies.
The CSP policy specifically has the following measures:-
- A policy for safeguarding and protecting children.
- Annual review of the policy or review in the event of organisational change or legislation or in the event of a serious incident.
- A lead child protection officer and deputy.
- Training for all relevant staff on safeguarding, the policy and its implementation and the referral/reporting procedures should the need arise.
- Specific training on coach employment and induction procedures.
- Amendment of existing procedures in line with national standards for safeguarding children and young people involved in sport.
